Sister Farrell Goes to be with our Lord

Sister Farrell passed away this past Sunday, May 6, at about 8pm. After a long, courageous bout with cancer God delivered her and took her home to her place in paradise. The family is very grateful for the prayers and support, both to-date and in the coming days.

The funeral service will be at Van Dyke Methodist Church on May 19, Saturday, at 11:00am.

Rev Dr Farrell speaks

Rather than read my words, here's an excerpt from an e-mail to me from Rev Dr. Farrell --

"Grace to you. I had a very successful visit to Antigua & Barbuda. I just got back yesterday and it is heartening to know Margaret also came in to be with me for 10 days and so far she is holding up well. Please let our readers know she is here and enjoying every moment of it."

Til next time...

Sister Farrell Made it to Church Yesterday

... And whenever she makes it to church that is a good thing. I spoke with her and she said she had a good week. As we know though, Sister Farrell is a warrior for Christ and in spite of the toughest of circumstances we expect nothing but good words from her mouth. This is not to justify the "name and claim it" theologians--they need to repent--but to suggest that we keep praying and God's relief and restorative powers will be her portion.

The family appreciates the attention, prayers and love.

God bless.

Chemo continues

According to Reverend Dr. Farrell the latest chemo regimen is tougher on Sister Farrell than the previous regimen. (It's my understanding she's had two regimens in play thus far.) She did attend our pastor's daughter's wedding last Saturday but couldn't muster the strength to attend church the next day. We all know how much it takes to keep Sister Farrell from church too.

Pray that God's will be done and that Sister Farrell's pain and discomfort would diminish. The family appreciates the love, attention and prayers of the saints.

God bless.

New chemo is tougher

I received an e-mail today from Reverend Farrell and will "paste" it here-- "Margaret has not been able to make it to church for the last couple of weeks due to chemo side effects and excessive pain. We continue to trust the Lord and wait upon him as his Sovereign will is worked out in our lives."

Will keep you informed. Remember that if I "disappear" for a whil that indicates I haven't heard anything radically different. I manage to run into Sister Farrell's daughter and son-in-law frequently at church so I stay up to speed.

Rev. Farrell did say recently that recent tests showed the cancerous growth has neither grown nor shrunk since it was discovered. Keep praying.

Sincerely,

Little Brother Scott

Different chemo

I spoke with "His Majesty" Dr. Farrell today and he updated me on Sister Farrell's condition. He said she's receiving different chemo now that is a little rougher on her. She missed church today which is unusual for Sister Farrell as she loves God's church. Pray for strength and that nausea would not be a problem.

Overall, Rev and Sister Farrell are upbeat, blessed, encouraged and walking with the Lord. Thanks for your prayers.

A month later...

Wow, it's been a month + since the last posting. Sister Farrell is now getting a different chemo drug that is a little harder on her. Pray for strength and well-being. We spoke in church Sunday and she is spiritually strong, an encourager, and content with all of life.

Still Doing Well

Spoke to Sister Farrell briefly in church Sunday. She said she's doing well and blessed. One thing I've learned about Sister Farrell through her trial--she walks by faith, not by sight. She loves and obeys God in spite of her circumstances. She's not thrown of course by strong winds of change.

Rev Farrell no knows I was on vacation. I'm back and reassimilating inbto real life!

Hello Again

Just got an e-mail from Sister Farrell's husband, His Excellency Reverend Farrell. From the tone of his e-mail it sounds as if Sister Farrell is getting along OK. I'm on vacation for another 5 days and frustratingly can't e-mail Rev Farrell, or anybody for that matter, to get a specific update. As always, updates will be posted periodically--more frequently if conditions warrant.

If any of you happen to e-mail Rev Farrell today or tomorrow let him know I can read e-mail but can't reply. Thank you.

God bless.

Snuck in a trip

Sister Farrell is back from a trip to Antigua. She took a break from chemo in the process and has now resumed it. Sorry for the long lapse between posts.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I visited Sister Farrell, Rev Farrell ("his majesty the high pontiff") at the Toussaint home right after Christmas, and as usual, Sister Farrell said she's blessed. She had another round of chemo this week and continues to hold up well. She has experienced some numbness in her feet but the doctor told her that's not uncommon with someone receiving her particular chemo regimen.

Continue to pray. The Farrells are grateful for the love, attention and support from all the Saints.

Been a While! But OK

Just noticed I haven't made a post in about 3 weeks. But no news is good news. Sister Farrell was in church this past Sunday, and at the Children's Christmas Musical this past Friday. She continues to march on with Jesus and fight the cancer. The chemotherapy is still on-going so keep in prayer for our dear sister.

Prepare a place for Christ this season as we remember our God became Man to redeem us from our sins. That's worth celebrating.

Looks and Sounds Great!

I spoke briefly with Sister Farrell at church this morning. She looked great and sounded strong. If you didn't know better there would be no indication she's battling cancer. Continue to pray. God is good, and we trust in Hinm for all things.

Doing OK

After a little blip several days ago (i.e. feeling poorly for a day or two) Sister Farrell is on another streak of feeling pretty good--all things considered. She made it out to church for a festival we had back on the 29th and to church the next day. Her eldest son and his wife and family dropped in for a visit this past weekend. Reverend Farrell has been able to attend to his ministerial duties and looks forward to the upcoming meetings in Tampa with Deeper Life Full Gospel Ministries.

P.S. I've noticed of late that junk e-mailers are hitting on blogspot blogs to try and preach or generate traffic to their own blog or site. If you read the comments you can usually tell which ones are "spam" and which ones are legitimate. Thanks.

Wow, it's been 9 days

Been a while since I made a post so here goes. Sister Farrell was doing great last I spoke to her. Several days ago? She sounded good and gets around pretty well of late. Chemo comes around every other Tuesday and that pattern holds up fairly consistently unless holidays get in the way. Hopefully she'll be at church Sunday, possiblt at our Fall Festival this Saturday.

Thanks for checking in. The Farrells are encouraged are by all the attention and prayers.
God bless.
